Delivering Psychological Therapy online
Welcome to my website
I'm Nayyab, your online Psychotherapist
Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, depression, low self esteem, anxiety, or major life changes? There comes a time when help is needed from an Accredited Psychological Therapist to cope with many of life’s challenges.
I’m based in the Greater Manchester region of United Kingdom, offering online and telephone therapy which you can access from the comfort of your own home. I’m here to support you on your journey towards healing and self-discovery.
My professional background
I started my journey into public health service through working within the substance misuse field both in statutory and non statutory services, supporting patients in the community achieve abstinence from their drug or alcohol addiction. My enthusiasm to work with complexity soon led to the move from a supporting role to a practitioner role managing a case load of 40 clients. Although I found the work rewarding I noticed that addiction and mental health went hand in hand and so my interest in mental health continued to grow. I could identify additional support needs of my clients apart from the addiction and recognised the mental struggles they endured. This is when I decided to embark on a career in therapy.
I have over 7 years of experience working for the NHS, in a primary care setting providing therapy to adults aged 18 plus and the private sector. I started my journey as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist working with personal injury clients and legal medico work. I then progressed onto working for the NHS where my role has been to treat mild to moderate anxiety and depressive disorders using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I also use Cognitive Behavioural Analysis Systems of Psychotherapy (CBASP) which is an evidence based treatment for recurring persistent depression or otherwise known as Chronic Depression that results in interpersonal difficulties. I offer Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and have an immense interest and success in working with trauma patients displaying PTSD symptoms. I have Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Skills level 2 which enables me to teach DBT skills in a group setting or to individuals who are diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and need the skills to manage their emotions/or interpersonal difficulties. I have facilitated the DBT Skills group within the service I work for with very good outcomes. Finally, my recent training has been in Schema Therapy which enables me to work with clients with traits or a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder or better known as now Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. Schema Therapy can also be used for individuals who are clinically appropriate for a schema intervention.
Apart from the day to day running of the service, I play an active role within the service offering case consultations to my colleagues as well as developing and facilitating a trauma training workshop for psychological well being practitioners and other staff members as part of service development. I also feel proud to have piloted the first trauma group within Greater Manchester region, for survivors of the Manchester Arena terrorist attack in 2017. This entailed delivering Cognitive Processing Therapy in a group setting.
Although it is not always possible to recover everyone due to various factors, I take pride in achieving a recovery rate always above the national average. I continue working for the NHS but I am also looking to build on my private practice.
Schedule an appointment today and see what I can do for you.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?
My prices are fixed but I can offer a concession if you book four sessions together. Please enquire by contacting me.
How long does each therapy session take?
A session generally lasts 50 mins. I wont charge you extra if the session exceeds up to 10 mins more than the scheduled end time.
How does online therapy work?
Remote working is brilliant and just as effective as face to face sessions. My initial 15 minute consultation is absolutely free. We discuss what your difficulties are and what you need help with. If this is something that I can help you with and you would like to start therapy with me then I offer you an assessment appointment. If you accept, we agree on a time and date and payment will be required via PayPal or bacs prior to the session.
Once you have booked in a session, I will email you a zoom link and guidance on how to access online sessions.. it really is very simple.
Do I lose my money if I cancel at short notice?
Sessions not attended or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are charged at the full fee.
How many appointments will I require?
This can vary depending on the difficulties you are experiencing and your goals for therapy and will be discussed and agreed together. In general, I offer six sessions initially with the view to review the progress and contracting to further sessions if needed. End of therapy is also discussed and agreed in advance.
Will our conversations remain confidential?
All conversations are treated in the strictest of confidence. However to ensure safe practice I discuss cases with my clinical superviser as part of the requirement of the accredited body BABCP. The only times confidentiality is breached is if you or anyone else is at risk of harm.
What if I am hesitant to do online sessions but still want therapy?
Not all modalities require online sessions. There are some disorder that I can treat with CBT sessions via telephone if that is your preferred option. It all depends on what you need help with. Also, if nerves get the better of you then we can begin sessions via telephone and progress later to online sessions as and when you feel more comfortable.
I love helping my patients develop the tools they need to cope with all of life’s challenges. Contact me today to learn more and book a session.
